Students must have passed 6 credit points of Level 7 units
Contact hours will vary based on the experience but are expected to be approximately 400 hours working with a host organisation plus approximately 40-60 hours for individual reflection and assessment.
All students are required to have completed specific WIL pre-placement modules (approximately 2 hours) prior to commencing this unit.
Students must attend and participate in experience-based activities on the scheduled days, as detailed in their agreement/experience outline.

The unit is designed to allow students to undertake a business placement as part of their studies and provides an opportunity for students to explore suitable vocations, gain practical employment experience and develop professional work habits such as teamwork, ethical conduct, effective workplace communication and self-management.
Students will critically reflect upon their experience, relevant graduate attributes, and employability competencies through a progressive assessment process.
Engage in ethical and professional behaviour as required of a professional in a formal workplace environment.

Assessment 1 – (Portfolio) Learning Portfolio designed around the WIL experience
– (Portfolio) Learning Portfolio designed around a full-time cadetship experience in industry.
The learning portfolio will be comprised of (but not limited to) a range of different assessment tasks, including:
Learning journal
Report and presentation to the employer
Individual supervisor’s evaluation
Individual post placement skills and employability development report.

The assessment due weeks provided may change. The Unit Chair will clarify the exact assessment requirements, including the due date, at the start of the teaching period.
Hurdle requirement:
1. Students must successfully complete the WIL pre-placement modules before they can attain access to the unit dropboxes.
2. Achieve at least 50% of the marks available on the submission task that requires reflection on the ULOs to evidence a minimum proficiency.
