Course overview

The Graduate Certificate of Healthcare Management is jointly run and managed by the Deakin Business School and the School of Medicine and aims to develop business acumen in healthcare practitioners. The program will introduce you to essential skills and capabilities required to manage and lead healthcare services in Australia and overseas.

On successful completion of this course, students may enrol in the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration, Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Business Administration (Healthcare Management).

Indicative student workload

As a student in the Faculty of Business and Law, you can expect to participate in a range of teaching activities each week. This could include classes, seminars, practicals and online interaction. You can refer to the individual unit details in the course structure for more information. You will also need to study and complete assessment tasks in your own time.

Course rules

To complete the Graduate Certificate of Healthcare Management, students must attain a total of 4 credit points, consisting of 2 credit points of core units, 2 credit points of elective units from a specified list, plus completion of MAI010 Academic Integrity Module.

Most units (think of units as 'subjects') are equal to 1 credit point.
