Course overview

The Deakin University Masters Qualifying Program (MQP) is a non-award program designed to provide a quality pathway to Deakin University's postgraduate programs in Business and Law.

Combining English language training and academic studies, the MQP is designed for students whose academic qualifications and/or English proficiency levels are marginally below the entry requirements for postgraduate programs at Deakin University.

The emphasis is on developing the skills necessary for success at postgraduate level. Students who complete the particular pathways within the MQP will meet the academic and English language requirements for entry into specified coursework postgraduate programs at Deakin University.

The MQP is taught by the Deakin College and Deakin University's English Language Institute (DUELI). Both institutions are co-located in a purpose-built building on Deakin University's Burwood (Melbourne) campus with state-of-the-art classroom facilities.

Career opportunities

The MQP program is a Masters qualifying program with all successful students articulating into a Faculty of Business and Law Master or Graduate Diploma program. This will then enable the student to complete a professional degree leading on to employment in a related business area.

This course does not include any compulsory placements or work-based training.

To complete the Masters Qualifying Program (MQP), students must complete two discipline-based units (with an achieved pass grade), two academic skill-based units (with an achieved pass grade) and the compulsory 0-credit point module, MAI010 Academic Integrity Module.

From Trimester 2 2021:

To complete the Masters Qualifying Program (MQP), students must complete two discipline-based units (with an achieved pass grade), two academic skill-based units (with an achieved pass grade) and the compulsory 0-credit point module, MAIQ010 Academic Integrity Module.
