* Students are able to commence this course at either Burwood (Melbourne) or Waterfront (Geelong).
Delivery is at both campuses and students will be required to undertake units of study from both the Geelong Waterfront Campus and the Melbourne Burwood Campus. Students should seek advice from their course advisor prior to the commencement of their course.
This course is not available to international students.
Please note that all property and real estate units are also offered in online mode.

The construction management component of this course provides you with a well-rounded set of skills that can be applied in a range of practical settings. Topics you will cover will include:
building economics and law
building practice
building technology
measurement and estimating

quantity surveying.
The property and real estate component will focus on the business of real estate, including:
accounting
business law
economic principles
marketing
property development
property market analysis.

You will have the option to commence this combined degree at our campuses in Burwood or Geelong Waterfront. All property and real estate units are available online in addition to a range of construction management units. Online study is a perfect complement to campus-based learning.
Indicative student workload
You can expect to participate in a range of teaching activities each week. This could include classes, seminars, workshops, site visits and online interaction. You can refer to the individual unit details in the course structure for more information. You will also need to study and complete assessment tasks in your own time.

Both single degree courses are professionally accredited by multiple professional bodies including the:
Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
Australian Institute of Building (AIB)
Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)
Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS)
Australian Property Institution (API) for Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) status.
This course is professionally accredited by industry. As a graduate you will have completed the academic requirements for membership of the Australian Institute of Building (AIB), the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
As a graduate you will also receive professional accreditation by the Australian Property Institute and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. In addition, you will meet the academic requirements for membership as a Certified Practising Valuer.
Participation requirements
Elective units may be selected that may include compulsory placement, study tours, work-based training or collaborative research training arrangements.

Course rules
To complete the Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours)/Bachelor of Property and Real Estate you must pass 40 credit points. This includes:
The course comprises a total of 40 credit points, which must include the following:
STP050 Academic Integrity (0-credit point compulsory unit)
SRA010 Safety Induction Program (0-credit point compulsory unit)
16 credit points of core units from the Bachelor of Property and Real Estate
22 credit points of core units from the Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours)
2 credit points of electives
Note – students will be precluded from the following two core Property and Real Estate units in the single degree course structure:
SRT112 Sustainable Construction
SRT214 Commercial Property Construction Studies
Most units are equal to one credit point. As a full-time student you will study four credit points per trimester and usually undertake two trimesters per year.
Select from a range of elective units offered across many courses. In some cases you may even be able to choose elective units from a completely different discipline area (subject to meeting unit requirements). Students are advised to discuss alternative exit options with a student adviser when selecting electives.
Work experience
You’ll have the opportunity to undertake a discipline-specific industry placement as part of your course. Explore the SEBE WIL program.
Course duration
You may be able to study available units in the optional third trimester to fast-track your degree, however your course duration may be extended if there are delays in meeting course requirements, such as completing a placement.
Fees and charges
Tuition fees will vary depending on the type of fee place you hold, your course, your commencement year, the units you choose to study, your study load and/or unit discipline.
Your tuition fees will increase annually at the start of each calendar year. All fees quoted are in Australian dollars ($AUD) and do not include additional costs such as textbooks, computer equipment or software, other equipment, mandatory checks, travel, consumables and other costs.
