Content
In this unit, students will develop the skills necessary to create and implement effective, child-centered learning plans by engaging with all aspects of the early years planning cycle. Students will work with a range of observations that focus on individual, small groups, and whole groups of children to analyse their learning and make appropriate links to an approved early learning framework. The analysis of children’s learning will inform the planning of play-based experiences that extend on children’s knowledge. The plans developed by students will be responsive to children’s interests, strengths, abilities and learning dispositions. Students will learn a range of teaching strategies to effectively support children’s engagement and learning and how to evaluate, reflect upon and revise plans.
