Content
This unit forms part of the Critical Understandings Cluster. Students will examine nursing and midwifery roles applicable to primary health care and will focus on the coordination of care, health education, and the use of digital health with a lens on communication through digital media.
In addition, health trends related to the population in the 21st century with a focus on the National Health Priorities, social determinants of health and the role of the primary health care nurse in promoting health and preventing disease will be examined. The unit offers students an opportunity to learn about the nurse’s role in working with vulnerable populations and has a focus on Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) people’s health.
