Content
This unit forms part of the Critical Understandings Cluster. In this unit students’ understanding of quality use and safe administration of medicines within a range of contexts will be expanded. Students will have the opportunity to further extend their knowledge of pharmacology and the principles of quality use of medicines in health care.
A focus of this unit will be the registered nurse’s role in administration, patient education and ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of medicines across the lifespan, and as patients’ transition through health care settings. The importance of engaging patients in their own medication management will be a focus throughout this unit.
