Content
Indonesia is one of Australia’s closest neighbours and the fourth most populous nation on earth. Despite obvious cultural differences, Australia and Indonesia share many aspirations and our futures are inevitably inter-dependent. It is hugely important that our nations’ people develop a better understanding of each other. This unit explores the diversity of the Indonesian people across the huge archipelago, including its geography, history, language and culture. Students will develop an understanding of how Indonesia’s long history and its cultural and ethnic diversity has shaped Indonesia’s society today.
