Content
This unit enables students to develop the skills and knowledge applicable to the process of identifying a competitive advantage for sport organisations. Key elements of sport business strategy will be considered including planning, environmental analysis, strategy formulation, strategy implementation, leadership and culture. Students will assess the strategic management cycle and decision-making processes utilised in considering alternatives, choice and the evaluation of strategy as it applies to sporting organisations. Students will analyse case studies of national and international sport with a focus on strategic decision-making, leadership, culture and ethical behaviour in relation to strategy formulation and implementation.
