Content
This unit examines the regulation and commercialisation of sport and exposes students to the theory and practice of negotiation. A broad range of topics related to the regulation of sport are explored. This includes, but is not limited to, anti-doping and corruption, sports agents, athlete welfare, domestic tribunals, collective bargaining, broadcasting, and sponsorship. The interaction between sport regulation and the law will be a key focus, as will the negotiation and arbitration processes used to resolve disputes in sport. Key negotiation theories and techniques will be studied such as behavioural decision-making, game theory and decision-analysis. Students will develop their negotiation skills through practical exercises.
