NoteStudents enrol in the unit online however there are significant on campus requirements. International students are strongly encouraged to carefully consider their obligations to attend on-campus practical intensives. Students should use the handbook to determine in which trimester/s this unit is offered. In some circumstances it may be possible to create a unit enrolment plan (i.e. a course map), so that you can complete all practical intensive obligations in one visit to Australia. Deakin University is not obligated to provide any students with a COE (confirmation of enrolment) to facilitate a student visa application. | |
Content
There are many factors that influence the design of an athlete’s training plan. This unit will address the wide range of factors that a coach needs to consider. Topics will include using video apps to coach athletes, sourcing reliable information, nutrition and recovery strategies, understanding the rehabilitation process of an injured athlete, athletic performance testing, athlete management systems, and legal and ethical issues including supplement strategies that work within the ‘Sport Integrity Australia’ guidelines. On completion of this unit, students will be able to implement a range of evidence-based strategies to facilitate athletic performance.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
To fully engage with Deakin's learning experiences, students must be able to access and use internet-connected devices as outlined in computing requirements at Deakin.
To support student success at Deakin, we have a bring-your-own-device (BYOD) learning environment that acknowledges that students and educators bring with them the digital tools they regularly use to complete academic tasks. These tools stay with you beyond the classroom, helping you to keep learning, explore ideas more deeply, and connect with knowledge in ways that matter to you.
