Contact hours will vary based on experience.
All offerings will comprise of WIL experience related contact (approximately 80-160 hours) plus approximately 20-40 hours for individual reflection and assessment. Some experiences may require additional compulsory orientation events.
Approved placements may extend to 240 hours maximum. Students must attend and participate in experience-based activities on the scheduled days, as outlined in their agreement/experience outline.
All students will be required to have completed specific WIL pre-placement modules (approximately 2 hours) prior to commencing their first WIL experience.
This will include educator guided online learning activities within the unit site.

The unit is designed to allow students to undertake a short-term (80-160 hours) business placement as part of their studies and provides them with an opportunity to explore suitable vocations, gain practical employment experience and develop professional work habits such as teamwork, ethical conduct, effective workplace communication and self-management.
Students will critically reflect upon their experience, relevant graduate attributes and employability competencies through a progressive assessment process.
Evaluate and evidence skills in working with others in professional settings, e.g. negotiation, interpersonal skills, working with a diversity of others, resolving conflicts.

Assessment 1 – (Portfolio) Learning Portfolio designed around the WIL experience
A learning portfolio is comprised of a range of different assessment tasks. In this unit the portfolio consists of 4 individual assessment tasks, a pre-planning report, your host’s evaluation, response (a report and/or presentation) evidencing your achievement of the unit learning outcomes and a recorded interview. Specific task details are available on the Unit Site.
The assessment due weeks provided may change. The Unit Chair will clarify the exact assessment requirements, including the due date, at the start of the teaching period.
Hurdle requirement:
1. Students must successfully complete the WIL pre-placement modules before they can attain access to the unit dropboxes.
2. Achieve at least 50% of the marks available on the submission task that requires reflection on the ULOs to evidence a minimum proficiency.

Fees and charges vary depending on the type of fee place you hold, your course, your commencement year, the units you choose to study and their study discipline, and your study load.
Tuition fees increase at the beginning of each calendar year and all fees quoted are in Australian dollars ($AUD). Tuition fees do not include textbooks, computer equipment or software, other equipment or costs such as mandatory checks, travel and stationery.
