Content

Are you someone with an idea for a potential start-up or creative enterprise? Do you have an interest in learning how to propel innovative ideas into reality? This unit is designed to help you understand what is needed to bring your ideas to life and contribute positively to society - no matter how large or small the vision or the impact you want to make. You will learn about the different models of entrepreneurship across a range of organisational types and contexts. Analysing real-world opportunities and case studies, you will explore the theoretical principles and practical steps for making evidence-based decisions and engaging in planning processes that are strategic and sustainable. You will be introduced to tools such as design thinking - a problem-solving technique that involves exploring and reframing complex challenges in order to generate innovative solutions - and ways to apply these to your everyday professional and creative practices. This unit is about developing a way of thinking that can enable you to maximise existing and future opportunities, learn from mistakes, and drive ideas into action.
