Content
This unit will advance students’ critical appreciation of sociocultural dimensions inherent in Indonesian language usage, with a focus on formal styles of language in particular contexts. Students will engage with formal texts on contemporary issues relevant to Indonesian society, including media texts and political discourse. Analysis will include critique of assumptions embedded within language and communicative strategies reflected through particular aspects of language use.
